FC ATHLETICO

We Develop Real Soccer Players.
Winning is just a bonus !!

FCA SOPHOMORE HIGH SCHOOL ALL SECTIONAL TEAM

With over 20 goals scored and over 10 assists for season Luis A was an easy selection for All Sectional Team. He was very close to being selected All State player as he was dominant in every game he played this season.

3 FCA PLAYERS BORN 2001 INVITED TO ATTEND USSF TRAINING CENTER !!

Congrats to Miguel Rodriguez, Brian Ballesteros & Alan Araujo for being invited as top players born in 2001 in Illinois to this Training center held by United States Soccer Federation in hopes of identifying the next U14 National Team Players for USA.

Miguel is an outstanding player that can play any position at a high level.

Alan is a natural talent with the ball.

Brian is an excellent defender and mid that is best in the middle of the field.

All 3 players have been with FCA for 3+ years.

We wish all 3 of them the best and know we have many more in line for these opportunities. Go FCA!!

2 FCA PLAYERS PICKED AS TOP 11 IN TDS COMBINE 2014

Luis and Alondra were chosen as top 11 in their respective genders & Selena also received interest from College Scouts after competing vs some of the Region's top High School players from freshman to Senior. This Combine hosted every year by Top Drawer Soccer, the most prestigious Nationally recognized player/team/club ranking system, at Schaumburg Olympic fields. The best players from Regional states like Michigan, Iowa, Kansas, Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin, Missouri, Minnesota and even Pensylvania came together in hopes of acheiveing a better ranking through TDS and college scouts.

Luis and Alondra both got his scores in the tecnical department as they showed great skill on the ball which is a FCA trademark in it's players. Alondra will surely be ranked in top 150 for Fall after this event and FCA will now have 3 players ranked in the countries top 150 Players in their respective ages and genders.

GO FCA !!!

FCA's LUIS A. NOW RANKED #53 IN NATION

These are IMG's Academy Top 150 Players in the 2017 Graduation Class & one of the most respected rankings for college and pro recruiting.

He is also ranked #2 in the Midwest overall.

Ranked #1 in Illinois

#15 at forward in the Nation. Luis has consistently moved up rankings since last year where he started at #135.

FCA's ANGEL VIRGOS JUAREZ RANKED #95 IN THE COUNTRY !!!

FCA does it again !! 3 year FCA player Angel, ranked amongst the top 150 in the country in 2018 graduation class, according to TOP DRAWER SOCCER.  Angel is one of FCA's hardest workers at practice and games and it is paying off for him in big ways. He attended a Nike ID2 Camp last year and performed very well. He is also ranked #23 Nationally as a forward. He shoots and passes with both feet, has excellent dribbling skills and his field awareness  is high level.

For all those critics that said that FCA got lucky with one "Naturally talented Player" we are continuing to prove we develop the best with now a hand full of top National level players !!

FCA ALL THE WAY !!!

FCA PLAYS IN SURF CUP !

Alondra Arreola was invited by Top Ranked Team, Davis Legacy, to play in Surf Cup 2014 in San Diego. She did not dissapoint showing her quality on the ball with dazzling dribbles and accurate passes. Alondra played vs the best competition there is in USA and will do so again as she is invited again to play in Disney Cup this year. Her team won a game and lost 2 by the minimal score to eventual semifinalists.

FCA DOMINATES 7UP SUENO ALIANZA WEEKEND AGAIN!

Once again FC Athletico proves it's quality with the most players to make the final round of Alianza tryouts in Chicago !!

Alex Filian, Kevin Garcia & Luis Arreola made it to the Alianza Final Game on Sunday and were part of the 20 player team picked from about 700 total that tried out the previous day. Players came from all over Illinois and other states including Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, etc.

We had several more players tryout and perform well enough to make Sunday but sometimes it takes a little bit of luck but always a lot of hard work of determination. A former 3+ Year FCA Player also made it to Sunday's game as a goalie, Jose Castillo.

Posters of Luis Arreola were present throughout the Alianza event. Luis Arreola also did 2 radio station interviews for 2 different radio stations and a TV Interview for MundoFox & Hoy TV.

Angel juarez, Miguel Rodriguez and Joel Perez received the opportunity to drive around Chicago with Mexican Soccer Legend Luis "El Matador" Hernandez. Coach Arreola picked up El Matador at his Hotel in Downtown and took him to sign autographs at Walmart in Cicero and then later to airport along with his beautiful girlfriend.

All of these experiences is what FC Athletico is all about !!!

2 FCA PLAYERS ON FRONT PAGE OF THE DAILY HERALD !!

4 FCA BOYS & 2 FCA GIRLS INVITED TO TRYOUT FOR SHATTUCK ST. MARY'S ACADEMY

Congrats to Mike McCugh, Kevin Garcia, Angel Juarez and Luis Arreola for getting this very prestigious invite. They all performed very well vs top players from around the country and other countries. It is extremely hard to get into this school and even harder to get a scholarship, so just being invited is an honor for our boys. Due to their positive showing more FCA players will get opportunites to tryout for this School in the near future.

Next up are Alondra Arreola & Selena Gutierrez that are scheduled to attend in June.  Shattuck St. Mary's is a top Boarding School in the country and well know for being a Center Of Excellence. FCA is gaining ground on Nationwide recognition as far as Top Player development and it is showing with so many prestigious invitations like these. Go FCA !!

9 FCA PLAYERS TRYOUT FOR SPAIN PRO TEAMS !!

Luis A, Mike M, Dimitri P, Alex F, Rivaldi A, Gabe Z, Alondra A & ALan A all tried out for Spain Scouts from Valladolid, Gijón, Almería, Valencia, Rayo Vallecano y Villarreal. The level of our players impressed these scouts and generated interest in future opportunities for our players. Thx to this FC Athletico has established a working relationship for serious consideration for players that we reccommend.

Check this magazina out as well. FCA well represented.

FCA U14 INVITED TO GIRL'S U15 MEXICAN NATIONAL TEAM CAMP !!

FCA's very own Alondra Arreola gets invited to next U15 Girl's Mexican National Team Camp along with 64 other girls born 99/00 after National Tryouts all over Mexico and USA !!

This is a great honor for her and our club as we now have 2 National pool players in only 5-6 years since we first started as a club.

It is no coincidence that now a 2nd National pool Player is from our club, FCA,  as she along with the other player are the 2 to be with FCA the longest since they were U8 & U9 when they didnt even know how to trap or kick a soccer ball.

We take pride in our development strategy that is quite different from everyone else and it has shown to be the most effective as no one can boast better success ratio from overall club players and time training under same club. No one.

Congrats to Alondra for her dedication and belief in our club and coahces. Go FCA !!

FCA's LUIS ARREOLA INVITED TO 2ND USA NATIONAL TEAM CAMP!!

Due to Luis's continued development at FCA he is now invited to his 2nd USA National Training Camp that will run from March 22 - 30. This is a great accomplishment for Luis and FCA since there are not any Midwest players invited to these Camps that are not USSDA affiliated. This will undoubtably open doors for up and coming talents that are many at FCA.

The coaching staff at FCA is relentlessy getting Luis exposure and is doing the same now with it's 13,14,15 & 16 year old players. Luis is scheduled, through invitations, to go to Schalke 04, Benefica, Pachuca, Xolos, etc.

2 FCA U15's DON'T DISAPPOINT AT DALLAS CUP!!

Alex Filian & Luis Arreola played at the highest level in Dallas Cup which is the #1 Tournament in USA. Luis scored 2 goals and had 3 assists. Filian proved himself to a starting spot by the 3rd game showing his skill and determination. Their team won 2 games and lost to MX Pro Monterey's top 99 Team 3-1.  They were invited to go to disney Cup next winter along with Alondra Arreola who will play for their U15 Girl's Team. We hope to add more to this list of top players invited to these events. Yet another once in a lifetime experience that FCA provides for it's players. Go FCA !!

ALONDRA ARREOLA RECIEVES SCHOLARSHIP TO ATTEND LAKE FOREST ACADEMY !!

Congrats to Alondra Arreola for this great achievement. FCA has now 2 players enrolled in one of the best and most prestigous schools in the country!!

FCA takes pride in helping it's players understand the importance of an education even when mostly pursuing a pro soccer career. Good grades show good character, discipline, focus, determination, which has now become an important factor when recruiting top players. Scouts understand that a well rounded individual will be easier to coach as pro players must be smart and fast thinkers on the pitch.

3 FCA PLAYERS INVITED TO NEXT USSF TRAINING CENTER !!!

Congrats to Angel Virgos & Alondra Arreola, both born 00' Players for getting their 1st invite to this event where only the very few best in Chicago get invited for evaluation and opportunity to get reccommended for the USA National Teams.

Angel performed very well at an ID2 camp just this September where he was placed in the top 1/2 of the entire group.

Alondra Arreola looks to be the only girl at this event but is well known as a top talent in her age level. This will also be her 1st TC.

Luis Arreola will also attend this event which is now his 8th-9th.

Go FCA !!

FCA U13's WIN INDOOR FINALS!!

Congrats to our U13's for winning it all vs a team that had at least 1/2 U14 players. This team showed a good mix of individual talent and great team play on defense and offense. We had a few U13's play up on U14's that could have made this an easier win for our U13 Team but at FCA development is first which make these type of wins even harder for us but fruitful in the end because our players are always challenged.

At FCA we understand that winning at U13 doesnt translate into winning college scholarships & Pro player careers. GO FCA!!!

FCA's LUIS ARREOLA SCORES

GOAL FOR THE USA NATIONAL TEAM !!!

Luis Arreola who has now been identified by the US Soccer federation as a top talent in the country, scored a nice goal to give his U15 team all born 99's a 2-0 win vs Crossfire Academy U16 ( Born in 97 ). This National team played 2 years up vs a top Academy team in the country.

He is also now being considered for inclusion into the U17 Residency Program in Brandenton, Florida as well.

This is a huge step in the right direction for our club. FCA is the only NonAcademy Club to have a player on the USA National Team from the entire Midwest which holds 14 States!!

GO FCA !!

FCA's LUIS A. EN TELEMUNDO SALA DE PRENSA SUENO ALIANZA

FCA PLAYER HAS TRIAL AT XOLOS IN TIJUANA

KEVIN GARCIA tried out for Xolos Fuerzas Basicas 98's and had a unique experience & opportunity given to very few players in USA. Kevin has several more tryouts already set up by FCA for him as he is a relentless defender with size and strength and a tremendous left foot. He was also recently invited to Portugal's Benefica Elite Camp.

3 FCA PLAYERS MAKE USG PRO TRIAL SELECT GAME & IMPRESS TOP PRO SCOUTS

Congrats to Luis A., Juan & Kevin G. for impressing the scouts & making it to select game. over 200 players attended this event where Pro Scouts from Portugal's Benefica, Italy's AC Milan & Parma attended. Some of these players should be getting more looks from this result. Luis showed his skill and power at forward. Juan showed his amazing ability at goalie. Kevin showed his physiciality and anticipation at defense.

Alex Filian, Mike McCue & Rivaldi also attended and performed well. They all stepped up their game after 1st game and will undoubtably due better at next event because they certainly have the potential. Alex scored 2 goals and handed out an assist in only 2 games and showed to be extremely efficient with few touches on the ball.

ALL FCA TEAMS IMPRESS IN 1ST INDOOR SEASON

At FCA, we take most of our pride in our "individual" player's development. We always play up and with limited rosters for max play. This is why FCA players and teams always impress and this season was no exception.
FCA U8's are all U7's except for 1 player who is U8. This team played with 1-2 subs most games and 1 man down for a couple. Even though we were at a clear disadvantage every game other teams still openly cheated vs us. Cerezo lost 2 games to us because of cheating and cheated again in 3rd place game with a U9 & U10 player. We lost 7-5 in a glorious comeback. These little guys have what it takes!!
FCA U10's finished with 3 wins but played with at least 1/2 the team being U9. This team will improve the next session as we lost a few games because of missing players due to sickness & vacations.
FCA U11's finished with a 4-4 record but deserved better in last game where we also missed alot of players for same reasons. This team also is 1/2 U10 and most teams notice this and congratulate us.
FCA U12's won 3rd place and showed great improvement from previous season. It's hard to believe this team was a Park District team 1 year ago!!
FCA U13's played with many new players that came in and showed great will and purpose. We hope they continue their desire to develop. They dont miss a practice and it shows on the field!!
FCA U14's played with more than 1/2 of its players being U13 and made the Finals!! Thats impressive. We had kids score on players that were twice their size!!
FCA U15's also made the finals in a U16 division in Hoffman Estates. We lost to the home team in what many said was the most exiting final of the day !! Our players got tired and had a much harder semi final game this same day than their rivals.
FCA U16's played with more than 1/2 of it's players being U15. Even though we blew some games we should have won, we showed just how capable of greatness we really are. We tied a team made up of mostly Wheeling High School Starting Seniors, who made State Finals!!!

FCA U15'S TRYOUT FOR

MX PRO CLUB XOLOS !!

As it is now a regular event for our club, a Xolos scout personally called FCA's Coach Luis Arreola Sr. to invite some of his best players out to the south side of Chicago for a "visoria" / "Tryout".

The scout was pleased to see that FCA had good talent and will keep a closer eye on our club for consistent invites throughout the year.

Gabriel Zorrilla, Dimitri Piceno, Kevin Garcia were the one's to attend this event and did quite well. They were each told by the scout what their weaknesses were and what he expected for them to work on in the next few months before seeing them again.

FCA will keep providing all of it's members many more opportunities like this in the near future.

FCA's ANGEL "MESSI" JUAREZ
IMPRESSES SCOUTS AT ID2 CAMP

Here we go again!! FCA just keeps getting more and more players called up for unique opportunities in the soccer world.

Angel Juarez, considered a top 00' in Illinois,  impressed USA National Scouts and ID2 coaches at the New Jersey camp held September 26-29. They loved his tecnical ability and were surprised to find out that he was not part of an Academy club. He constantly took on players throughout the camp showing he can play vs the best and excel.

FCA will continue to push this player's limits and get him seen by National and Pro Scouts as that is one of our main goals in the club. We will also make sure his grades are the highest possible so we can pursue a good High School & College Scholarship option for him as we have done for other FCA players older than him.

About 40-50 players in this age group are invited in each of 2 camps in USA. Out of these 2 camps 18 players will be selected to the ID2 National team that will fly out to Europe to compete vs top clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid etc. Academy teams.

Angel Juarez has been a loyal FCA player for 3+ years now and will start to see his hard work pay off with invitations like this. He is a very tecnical player with amzing scoring ability and field vision.

FCA's LUIS A. IMPRESSES
TOP GERMAN CLUBS!!

Luis finished his 1 month long trip successfully by impressing coaches and tecnical directors at Champion's League German club Schalke 04'. He trained with the 99' team on Monday and played a game vs a 98' club team on Tuesday scoring a nice goal on a play he started with a nice pass and following the play off a rebound. He later took a nice left foot shot after taking on a player in a 1v1 play but it went off the crossbar. He continuously won 50/50 balls and connected on passes throughout the game.

Right after the game, Schalke Directors approached Luis and his dad, inviting them to lunch, to tell them they were interested in following up with Luis to hopefully invite him soon to another 10 day training stint and would look to include a tournament so Luis could also play with Schalke 04 99' group.

European clubs are not allowed to sign any foreign players before the age of 16 but are allowed to invite them over for training sessions before then. This is an important step forward for Luis and FCA in the right direction to accomplish what we first set out to do when we started our club. Go FCA!!!

FCA's ALEX FILIAN #1 FORWARD AT BAYERN MUNICH CAMP!!!

Congrats to this long time FCA Player for being picked 1st place as forward by a Bayern Official at FC Bayern Munich Youth Camp where they picked a top player at every position. Alex showed his skill and scoring ability vs many forwards present at the event. His dad, Joe Filian, a former Cosmos Pro player, was also interviewed in German by Bayern officials and will appear in Bayern's webiste. Alex created enough interest with his play that his dad asked to  set up some important events with Bayern in the following years.

USA U15 NATIONAL COACH HUGO PEREZ INVITES LUIS TO NEXT NATIONAL CAMP!!!

After only 3 games of coaching Luis at Sueno Alianza Nationals, Hugo Perez, made an official invite for Luis to attend the next National Camp in Carson, California in October 26. He called Luis's dad and coach , not even a week after this event, personally to invite Luis. Hugo is seen in this video giving Luis a USSF Logo Scarf as a signal of his interest in this top 99' player.

Luis is the only player  from Midwest to get an invite to a USA National Camp that is not in an Academy club !!

This player must now work as hard as ever to keep climbing up to the top and FCA will make sure of it!!

2 FCA U15'S MAKE SUENO ALIANZA NATIONAL FINALS !!

FCA's FRESHMANS SELECTED FOR

VARSITY TEAMS & JV 1 STARTERS

Alex Filian and Luis Arreola, both freshman's this year, were selected as Varsity starters on their respective H.S. teams.

Eric Hernandez, Kevin Garcia, Pavel Slavov, Dimitri Piceno, also all freshman's are starters on their JV1 teams.

2 FCA U14's SELECTED AT CHICAGO SUENO ALIANZA !!

FC ATHLETICO's Luis Arreola and Kevin Garcia were selected as 2 of only 3 total 99/98 born players at this year's 7UP Sueno Alianza Tryouts. There were more than 300 total U15's from different clubs that tried out on Saturday. After that 19 players were selected to come back on Sunday for a game vs Chicago Fire Academy 99/98's. Former 5 Year FCA Player Alex Alfaro was also selected among the top 19. What is amazing is that all 3 players had played 2 full tournament games right before Saturday's tryouts. Luis scored the lone goal for his team but along with Kevin were the only 2 players to not get subbed out the entire game.

After the whistle blew only 3 players were selected to advance to Sueno Alianza national event and 2 of those were some of FCA's finest but were also only 2 from the Chicago land area. These players also performed their first TV interviews for Telemundo and Verizon Wireless as was their FCA Coach, Mr. Luis Arreola. This was a very real tryout since some of Mexico's finest were the scouts at this event. These scouts were all ex pro players in Mexico.

  • For Pumas Del UNAM it was former Pumas Goalie - Sergio Bernal.
  • For Club America it was Fuerzas Basicas Director and renown talent finder - Jose Luis Arce.
  • For Chivas Del Guadalajara it was former Chivas and Mexican National Team Player - Victor Rangel.

We are especially proud of Kevin Garcia since he has only played soccer for 3.5 years and only for his club FCA. We hope to continue this success immediately with many more FCA players and are sure we will.
   FCA ALL THE WAY !!!

FCA U8's WIN INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

Congrats to our U8's that are mostly comprised of U6/U7's in winning it all vs a full U8 team that were obviously bigger and stronger but our U8's showed better skill and tecnique and most importantly alot of heart!!

Danny Alfaro (U7), Isaac Hernandez (U8) & Alan (U7) each scored a goal for the 3-2 win. Isaac and Danny also contributed greatly on Defense as did Landon, Michi and Lalo (U7). The U6's came in as subs and did nopt dissapoint and showed how they will also dominate games in a couple years. Our goalie was top notch getting hit a couple times but hanging in there.

LUIS ARREOLA & KEVIN GARCIA IMPRESS AT MAYOR'S CUP IN LAS VEGAS

Kevin showed he can defend anyone in playing top teams at this tournament. His physical presence and speed impressed everybody. Luis scored 3 out of 4 goals for Schwaben in group play. 2 of his goals were vs #46 Nationally ranked FC Delco in a 2-1 win. He scored 1 more goal and handed out 2 assists in the 4th consolation game.

FCA U15 SELENA GUTIERREZ A HIGH SCHOOL STAR

FCA's very own Selena, who just turned freshman, is playing JV 1 as a starter at forward and Center Mid for Palatine High School as one of the team's most tecnical players!! We are very proud of her as she has come a long way since her first years with FCA. She has a bright future in soccer and we will continue to develop her to get where she needs to be to fullfill her destiny. Selena said " I am so glad I joined FCA when I did because I am now a better player than many of my friends that used to be better players than me". Go FCA !!!

FCA GETS MLS PRO CLUB ACKNOWLEDGEMENT !!

“As the only MLS academy club based in Chicago, our scouting team strive to identify high quality youth soccer players with the potential to one day play for our professional team.  We have recently recruited Luis Arreloa Jr into our USSDA Academy program based in Toyota Park, and recognize that FC Athletico has strong tradition of producing talented youth soccer players. The Fire technical staff and I will look forward to working with the club in the near future”. Larry Sunderland (Chicago Fire SC , Academy Director)

FCA's ANGEL JUAREZ MAKES ODP ILLINOIS TEAM

Congrats to Angel for making ODP Illinois team but we are completely 100% positive he was one of the top players born 00's at this event. He scored most of the goals for his team and no one matched his skill on the ball.

Frankly, at FCA we are extremely dissapointed with how ODP was run this year with outrageous fees and Financial Aid Proccess. We are currently looking into these issues as our players deserve every opporunity regardless of economical stature.

Angel Juarez will succeed and FCA will do everything in it's power to make his dreams come true. He is a phenomenal player with a Barza like soccer IQ that deserves everything in life.

FCA U14's IMPRESS AT MIDWEST CUP WITH ONLY 10 PLAYERS!

Our U14's showed up with only 10 players throughout the tournament but rose up to the occasion in competing vs the top teams in the Midwest.

vs Minnesota Thunder Academy - Started with 9 players & finished with 10 for a 4-2 win vs this top team in Minnesota. Danny & Mike each scored along with Luis's 2 goals. Filian & Danny each 2 assists.

Click here to watch highlight reel.

vs FC1 Academy - Played entire game with 10 players. Held the score to 1-0 in 1st 1/2. We went down 4-0 before making a strong comeback to cut the lead to 2 to finish 4-2 loss. Filian again assisted on Luis goal & Dimitri assisted on Mike's. Former FCA 5 year player Alex scored 2 for FC1 as their best player in the game. This is a Premier 1 team that also finished 2nd in State Cup and MRL standout that had a very hard time beating our 10 players & without former FCA Alex A. would have lost this game to us. 4-2 Loss.

vs Wisconsin Aces - Luis scored 2 goals & 2 assists for Mike's 2 goals, Filian scored 1 goal & 1 assist along with causing a penalty. Danny scored 1 goal & 1 assist. Kevin, Eric and Dimitri were excellent on Defense. 6-1 Win

Semi vs SSA - We again went down 4-0 before coming back strong to cut it to 4-3 on 2 Luis goals assisted by Filian & Mike & a goal by Chato assisted by Luis. This team is a Premeirship team that was also a Premeirship Cup Champ last year. We lost 6-3.

Very impressive results for just 10 players throughout the tournament. What is even more impressive is that 3 of them are U13's (1 is a girl) and that our goalie had never goalied before this season. New nickname for this team " THE BIG TEN " because they showed a Big Heart in this Tourney !!!

At FCA, we are proud of our reputation of developing the area's best talent, now acknowledged by a MLS Pro Club. We are always happy and willing to provide better opportunities for all of our committed players. There is a reason we do things differently from other clubs and now many FCA players have benefited from our unique development system. Make no mistake. This is no coincidence!!

2 FCA U14'S INVITED TO TOP MEXICO PRO TEAM TRIALS

Luis Arreola (99) & Kevin Garcia (98) both get invites to Chivas De Guadalajara & Club America to 1 week trials for each club as top players in their age respective age groups. Their FCA Coach, Mr. Luis Arreola, got the call July 22 & 23 from each club by Chivas Fuerzas Basicas Director, Savador Gamero, and America Fuerzas Basicas, Jose Luis Arce, expressing deep interest in having both players come out as top prospects after being scouted in Chicago at 7UP Sueno Alianza.

All 3 will be attending these tryouts this August.

Coach Luis saids "This is an exiting opportunity for both our players and extremeley rare for 2 players from the same club to get this offer. We are extremely proud of them and hope that our club members will be reassured that our FCA philosophy is paying off at the highest levels with our most dedicated players."

Coach Luis pushes them hard and even yells at his players but only to try to get the most out of them and the character needed to excel at the highest levels. These 2 players dealt with the hard work and are now starting to see the benefits.

Luis previously was also invited to Xolos from Tijuana and Germany's Stuttgart & Schalke 04 for tryouts.

FCA PLAYER ACCEPTS LAKE FOREST ACADEMY OFFER !!

After much thought Luis Arreola has decided to attend Lake Forest Academy under a very generous Scholarship.

It was a very hard decision for Luis to make since Shattuck St. Mary's Academy - Faribult, Minnesota St.Viators - Arlington Heights, Il. showed much interest in him as well, with very competitive Scholarship offers. FCA will keep good relations with these schools for our up and coming players.

We will continue to train and provide our players with the same development environment & opportunities.

Luis saids "I could have only developed my skills as fast as I have with FCA. No other "Top" club showed the patience and focus on my individual development like FCA did and it has been the most fun as well." These are the "wins" that FCA has always pushed for and is achieving them surprisingly fast!!  Go FCA!!

FCA U12's STRONG SHOW AT STATE CUP 2013

Congrats to our U12's in their 1st ever State Cup. Even though they did not advance to Semi's because of goal differential they proved to be able to compete with the very top U12's in the state. They tied 2 other teams with 6 points for 4th seed.

They beat Kickers United U12 A team who is top ranked U12 team in YSSL and last year's Illinois Cup Champ & this year's favorite.

They lost in a very close game to Fire Jr's West, a Premiership team.

They won vs TCSA who is a very good team that plays in 1 division lower than Premeirship.

Angel Juarez stood out as top goal scorer with 4 goals. Brian scored a goal and dished out several assists. Sabrina, Miguel, Jose & Damian were a force on Defense. Jesus played excellent at goalie. Ivan, Zurdo, both Sebastians, Jose M., Ricky, Dj all contributed very well.

This team has the potential of going far in next year's State Cup.

LUIS ARREOLA GETS HAT TRICK AT

7TH USSF TRAINING CENTER!!

Luis tears them up again in a last minute invitation from the USSF where he outshined the top 99/98's from the 3 Academy clubs in Illinois - Chicago Magic, Chicago Fire Academy & Sockers Fc. He scored 3 goals & assisted on the 4th goal for his team's 4-1 win in a 15-20 minute game. There were several USA National Pool Players there but Luis showed again his overall quality and what a small club like ours is capable of producing. He is the only 99' to score in all 7 USSF Training Centers including 2 goals in the USSF Regional training Center in July, 2012 in a 4-2 win.

Alex Alfaro, a 5 year FCA player & 6 year player under FCA Coach Luis, was also invited to this camp as a 99' player. It is his 3rd. The very first was under FCA. Good to see how our FCA players continue to impress. No matter who he currently plays for, everyone in our community knows where he truly developed his skills & determination.

LUIS ARREOLA IMPRESSES SCOUTS & COACHES AT 2012 THANKSGIVING ODP INTERREGIONALS IN PHOENIX, AZ.

Even though his team failed to score or win a game Luis showed his quality of being a top forward born in 99' at this event. His mix of skill and field awareness along with his size and strength were unmatched on any of the teams. He was unlucky in many of his chances to score but also made great passes to goals and constantely created chances for his teammates where he played as the target forward and center mid. He was the only real "go to guy" on any of the teams.

FCA will now look to involve all of it's top players in ODP this coming year as we found it to be a unique experience that is worth the expense.

LUIS ARREOLA SCORES 2 GOALS IN 4-2 WIN  AT U.S.S.F. REGIONAL TRAINING CENTER

Luis scored 2 goals in a 3-2 win in a highly contested game between 2 teams comprised of the Top Players in the 98/99 age groups in the entire Region that was played on Thursday, August 16, 2012 in Fort Wayne, In. Each team had 5-6 subs. Luis was the starting forward and played the entire game. He did not get to touch the ball until after 10-12 minutes of play as the midfield on his team could not get him the ball. He pressured and made his runs until finally getting the ball immediately beating his defender ( a 98) and shooting but hitting the crossbar. He then beat the the other defender ( also a 98 ) on another dribble move and got into the penalty area when he was taken down by the same defender from behind. Luis made the PK on a beautiful shot into the upper 90. Luis scored his second goal on a tecnically sound play where he brought in a rebound out of the air with his chest and shooting it before it hit the ground. The opposing team dominated posession but Luis took advantage of his opportunites. Fc Athletico was well represented this day. Hopefully this will now be enough to get him in th U.S.S.F. National Pool which is the only remaining step.

LUIS ARREOLA SCORES AGAIN AT 5TH U.S.S.F. TRAINING CAMP

Luis has been a constant scoring force at these events where he has scored vs the best in Region 2 under the presence of U.S. Soccer National Staff. He scored in a 2-0 win for his team this past Saturday in Bridgeview. Teams were made up of the top 98'/99's in Illinois. Luis has been the only 99' to score at any of the 5 events. He scored 2 goals in a 4-2 win at a Regional USSF Training Camp just previously this last Summer.

U.S. Soccer Training Centers are designed to replicate national team training camps.
The training will be run by members of the U.S. Soccer technical staff. This training center serves as an early identification step as they work towards forming United States Youth National Teams in the U-14, U-15, U-17 and U-18 age groups.
Luis has dominated most of these events as the Top Regional 99' scoring and excelling vs the top Regional 98's at these events. We are very proud of him.

4 FC ATHLETICO U14 PLAYERS SPECIAL INVITE TO                                                                                 COMPETE VS HAMBURG SV TOP SELECT 99'S & IMPRESS !!

Luis Arreola (99'), Kevin Garcia (98'), Eric Hernandez (99') & Carlos Guzman (99') got the opportunity through Athletico to compete vs the very best talent born in 1999 that Hamburg SV, a Top German's Bundas Liga Team, has to offer. This team is comprised of 20 of the best 50 players that were hand selected from every club in the Hamburg, Germany area. Schwaben was kind enough to invite our players, acknowledging our top talent that we are recognized for always having. Luis, who played every minute, scored and assisted on the only 2 goals of the game for his team proving to be at the level of these great German Players. Hamburg Coaches were impressed with his tecnical ability & coordination given his 6'1" frame at only 13 years old. They praised the fact that Luis trains and plays mostly every day as they too do the same for their select players and is noticed in their team & individual play. Kevin Garcia did not dissapoint at defense showing his great speed and physical presence. Even though Eric and Danny played only a few minutes in this game they recieved this unique opportunity of playing a team like this that very few players will ever get to do in USA, especially at this age and knowing first hand what they must do to compete vs these type of players. We will upload a highlight real of our players along with Hamburg's excellent plays in the next week. GO FCA !!

LUIS ARREOLA SCORES 2 GOALS AT EXCLUSIVE MIDWEST PRE-ACADEMY LEAGUE PDP INVITE !!!

Alex showed his midfield capabilities and Luis scored 2 goals where they both helped their team win the 11v11 game played amongst the top 99's in the Midwest Region with a 4-2 score.  Check this link out on youtube to see their highlights also shown on US Club Soccer website :                http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqEDkHhs488

FC Athletico are very proud of these players of only 13 years old and are very exited for the younger talented players coming up as they can see first hand the level they need to achieve to make these accomplishments. Every singe thing FCA does for it's players is to maximize their talents to get these rewards in life.

FCA's 13 year old Luis Arreola gets invite to play with Fire Academy's Top 98/97 team in Metro Men's League 2nd Division. He showed he could play at that level with crisp passing and great movement off the ball. He is paving the way for Fc Athletico up and coming top talent. Stay tuned for an exiting year for all of Athletico's finest.

LUIS ARREOLA SCORES 1 GOAL & 5 ASSISTS AT ID2 TRAINING CAMP IN PHOENIX, AZ.

Luis again showed his quality with some of the best players in the country and certainly the best in California where 12 U14 National Team Players attended and were picked for Spain Trip. A total of 22 National Pool Players were there. Even though Luis scored and assisted on a 2-1 win in his 1st game he only played in the 2nd 1/2 in the 2nd game after a 0-0 tie. He took on players and handed out 3 assists for a 4-1 win again for his team. In his 3rd game he assisted on the first goal where he again only played the 1st half in what ended up being a 2-1 win for his team. All 3 teams were different as they mixed players up but the 3rd team was made up of the best players in the camp which Luis was part of. Regardless of the results and playing time Luis proved to be at the top level of the country in his age group. There were12 U14 National Team Players there along with several more National Camp invitees among the 52 total players. FC Athletico was proudly represented at this event and now everyone in the country knows of the talent produced in our small club. We hope to send many more to these events as we have the talent to do so.

FCA'S U12 SABRINA AYALA WINS SUPERCLUB'S ROCKFORD TOURNAMENT IN TOP BRACKET !!

This great center defender who just started to play soccer less than 2 years ago was invited to play with Grove U. Top U12 girls Team, through FC Athletico, in this prestigious tournament where her defensive skills were key in beating the same team twice, including championship, by a 2-1 score in both games in the top level bracket .  She is another perfect example of what can be achieved through hard work and FCA's plauyer development philosophy. She understands that FCA never holds any of these esperiences from it's players and that the greater objective is her development. She is also an excellent student.

LONG TIME FCA PLAYERS MAKING A DIFFERENCE ON ILLINOIS TOP RANKED TEAMS !!

All of these long time FCA players are making a big difference at their present clubs that FCA provided as part of their development and 2nd option. Even though we feel their development is being jeopardized because some of them chose to leave Athletico for these clubs that only focus on wins/results we wish them the best. Everywhere they go they are recognized as Athletico Developed Players that are game changers for their present clubs. We make them leaders but sadly some comform to being just role players.

Alex Alfaro - Currently plays for FC1 Top Team. Has won Celtic Cup, Superclubs for 2nd time (1st won with FCA), plays minimal minutes in Premeier           1, is the best center mid on his team but is used as right/left defender mostly. Was once a top 99' prospect under FCA.

Jonathan Sanchez - Currently plays for Chicago Magic NPL 98'. Has won Regional Final 2012 and voted Top Center Defender by Regional Team Coaches, Plays Premier 1, is starting Center Defender on both teams, plays on Nationally ranked #2 team in Dallas Cup. Was once "the" best 98' Center Mid in Illinois under FCA.

Jose Castillo - Currently plays for Chicago Magic NPL 98'. Has won Regional Final 2012, Plays Premier 1, is starting Center Goalie on both teams, plays on Nationally ranked #2 team in Surf Cup. Never plays on the field for Magic. Was once a top left midfielder under FCA.

Alondra Arreola - Currently plays for FCA Boys U14A, U14B as a Def. Mid and Grove Girls U13 Top Team as an attacking Mid. Has won Schwans Usa cup one of Spartan's best players, Helped Grove get 2nd place in Glen Ellyn Tourney and 1st place in IWSL AB division. Is a starter on all teams and will play ODP this year along with an ID2 reccomendation.

Kevin Garcia - Currently plays for FCA U14A. Has played for FC Chicago, Schwaben as a guest player. Played vs Hamburg Sv, Puma Cup, Libertyville Cup (won), USA Cup, Nike Cup. Is currently invited to play in Las Vegas presidents Day Cup. He has always been a starter and a game changing defender.

Angel Juarez - Currently plays for FCA U12, U14A & U14B. Has played for Spartan's U12 top team as a U11 through FC Athletico. Is currently recommended by FCA for ID2 & ODP. Is a top 00' in Illinois.

Luis Arreola - Currently plays for Chicago Magic NPL 98' and trains with U16 & U18 Magic Academy even though he is only a 99' !! Was "the" dominating player for FC1 in every tournament they played where he scored 80-90% of the goals during the year. Notable tournaments he has played are State Cup Finals(won) for Fire, USA Cup (won), Puma Cup (won), Libertyville Cup (won), Superclubs (won), Surf Cup (Semi), CASL, Phoenix Del Sol, US Club Nationals, US Club Regionals (won), ODP Regionals, PDP event, 4 USSF Training Camps, USSF Regional Camp. He has always been a starter on every team he has played for as a game changing player and undeniably FCA's most achieved player but remains widely known as still and always an FCA developed player that currently plays for FCA Top Team.

Luis Arreola recieves official invitation to represent Region II in the 2012 Thanksgiving Interregional ODP Tournament where he will get the opportunity to play vs each one of the other 3 Regional Select Teams in the country and the U14 National Pool Select Team. This is an outstanding opportunity for Luis to showcase his talents in 4 games to prove he deserves to be on the National team. This is also a great opportunity for our Athletico players to see first hand what it takes to accomplish such things in every practice and game with Luis. His focus and determination in every practice and game has been a determining factor for achieving these opportunities. Nobody beleives that Luis could not even dribble a ball when he was 8-9 years old, proving that great soccer players are not born, they are made through hard work, focus, determination, love for his team/club and most importantly love for the game. Our philosophy of Max minutes, creativity, short rosters, multiple games and showcase first, win second attitude is paying off big with players like Luis. There is no question that the players that have remained with Athletico the most and have followed our system the longest are the ones making these local headlines.
